Alright yall, I know it has been FOREVER since I've done a post that is makeup related but as promised I am back! In case you haven't noticed I am a avid Target shopper, seriously half of my pay checks go to Target lol; anyway I was browsing through the beauty aisle during one of my weekly Target hauls and I noticed that they have new beauty products. While I wanted to try everything, I kept my self-control and only brought a few products that I am ready to review. I'll let you know if you need it or if Target can keep it. Let’s jump right in.
Bliss Makeup Melt $10: Bliss is a popular skincare brand that has been around for a while, but I guess they decided to make their products even more affordable and released a line of skincare products. I am obsessed with makeup removers, so I had to try this one and sadly I was not impressed. This melt does not do well removing makeup, it does eventually remove all your makeup, but it isn’t instant which is a pain after a long day. The texture of this is jelly like and the smell is pleasant. I wanted to love this product but sadly I didn’t. Target can keep it.
Violet Voss Lashes $10: I knew Target was expanding their beauty selection, but I was shocked to see Violet Voss in store. Violet Voss is not a new beauty brand, but it is new to store. There were three lash styles available, but I chose the Faux Mink Lashes in the style Sexy and Eye Know IT. I am IN LOVE with these lashes. Soooo natural and soooo dramatic at the same time. The lash band is already curved so it is ready to be placed on the lash line, they were a bit long for me, so I had to trim them, but they are amazing none the less. You definitely need it!
Hue Noir True Hues Flawless Matte Finish Foundation $20: I was so pleased when I saw this foundation on display. As a Black woman it is hard to find foundations that match my skin tone, especially in the drugstore BUT Target is looking out. This line is called Hue Noir and they don’t just make foundations in all shades but also make highlighter and bronzer trios, contour sticks, and finishing sprays. I only purchased their foundation and this is probably the BEST foundation I have ever tried from the drugstore. The quality of the foundation reminds me of the quality I find in my high-end foundations. I love how natural this foundation looks and feels. It is super lightweight and helped keep me matte for more than 6 hours. The foundation did not break down even against this humid Florida weather. You most definitely need it.
Haley’s Re-Set Liquid Matte Foundation $20: This foundation is also new to Target. The brand Haley’s is a cruelty free and vegan brand that provides makeup products for all skin tones. This foundation comes in a whopping 31 shades and has a matte finish. Sometimes when there are a lot of colors to choose from I tend to have a hard time finding my shade and this was no exception. I wish that Target had testers of this product because there are literally tons of shades for WOC and it is hard to decide which one works best so I purchased two different shades. This is a great, high quality foundation. It is not as lightweight as the Hue Noir foundation, but it is just as great. This foundation is full coverage and lasts all day. You need this!
Coloured Raine Focal Point GlowLighter in Your Treat $25: I have been dying to try something from Coloured Raine but never had the chance until now. I wish Target carried their full line in stores, but I guess that will come soon in the future. I picked this shade because it was the only one out of the three that seemed to compliment my skin tone. I am impressed with the quality and performance of this highlight. It provided just enough glow without it being too much. Although I did enjoy this highlight I feel that there are so many on the market that work just as great as this one for a cheaper price so Target can keep it.
