What is your biggest fear? That can be a loaded question filled with complexities and gray areas. For example, I do not like cockroaches. I fear them, but it is more of a fear-induced rage where if I see a roach I MUST kill it. It’s strange, but my fear for roaches makes me face them head on. I also have a fear of failure, like most people. However this fear is more quiet, subtle even. If I avoid new things I do not have to experience the negative feelings that come with feeling inadequate.
We all fear something and we all have different ways that fear manifests itself and different avenues on how we process and respond to that fear, nevertheless we know in our hearts we shouldn’t let the fear control us. We are strong, beautiful and ambitious women- we should laugh at fear, nothing should stand in the way of our dreams. However, no matter what there will be times in everyone’s life where fear will come for your dreams. It will be frightening and terrible, suffocating and overwhelming and maybe like me, you too will try to avoid the very thing that you love because of something you fear.
Ladies, it will take practice and it is something that may not be successful on the first try but you must control your reaction to fear. Fear itself cannot be controlled; it is a natural reaction to the unknown, it is what makes us alive, intelligent and aware of the world around us. We need to recognize the fear, understand it is okay to be afraid but then realize that our goals are more important than our ‘what if’s’. Your dreams will require the most out of you and that in itself can be worrisome; but the journey to your dreams is what helps equip you to conquer them. So this week ladies do something that you avoid, something you fear and watch how new possibilities will blossom before you.
