Another Monday is here and I’m sure the majority of you are dreading it. It could be because of the massive amount of emails and paperwork you have to shovel through, or the deadline for a huge project you have to accomplish. Whatever it is, it’s something that is probably causing a small amount of anxiety right about now. However, what if it is a “who” and not a “what” that makes you distressed? It could be your over critical boss or professor that makes you feel inadequate. Or a co-worker with snide comments that always make you feel insignificant.
You could be the perfect person with the greatest personality and exemplary work ethic, but once they come onto the scene your self-confidence goes underground. And you hate it- you really do, but it seems that every word or action directly or indirectly impacts your mood or even your identity. So what do you do about it? What can make those feelings of inferiority go away?
The harsh reality is that no one HAS to like you; no matter how “good” or “awesome” people will always find a minute detail to criticize. On the other hand, you can also choose not to care about what people think about you. So what your co-worker doesn’t like you? So what the person in your school always has something slick to say? Remember you do not have to take ownership of someone else’s opinion. You are beautiful, ambitious and most importantly a queen so when a person’s idea of you contradicts that it will be easier to ignore because you already know who you are.
So, ladies, this week do not let anyone make you feel small or less than, you are a lady that is running your own race and does not have time to stop for the viewpoints of others.
