Is there anyone in your life you need to forgive? It could be something light that caused mild annoyance, or something that has permanently marked you; whichever it is you cannot go through this life without someone hurting you in someway. We are flawed human beings and at the worst of times we can really wound a person emotionally. So when this happens to you, what do you do? Do you ignore the feelings of hurt and betrayal? Get angry and lash out? Harbor feelings of unforgiveness and resentment that burrow in your heart for too long?
These options at first may feel better or easier to deal with it, but unfortunately they will stop you from having true freedom. There is a famous quote that says, “Unforgiveness is like drinking poison and expecting the other person to die.” It does nothing but eats you from the inside out. So forgive because everyone needs forgiveness, but forgive because you need to allow yourself to break from the bondage of unforgiveness. So this week ladies if there is someone that you need to forgive start the process today, I promise it will be worthwhile.
“Forgiveness is an act of the will, and the will can function regardless of the temperature of the heart.” - Corrie Ten Boom
