Tired face. Dark under eyes. Unkempt hair. Wrinkles. Acne. A frown. Trembling lips. Tears. Disappointment. Unsatisfied. Angry. Regretful. Discouraged. Helpless.
When you look in the mirror there can be a myriad of emotions that you see staring back at you. Most of us, especially women, are not very kind to the reflection they see in the mirror.
But who gave you the right, the audacity to treat yourself this way? You are someone’s wife, daughter, sister or friend. Not only that you are a human being, with valid feelings, hopes and dreams; a person that should not be ripped down to the studs with their own harsh words. You being alive is enough reason to be treated kindly.
So next time when you look in the mirror try to look pass the tired eyes and the past mistakes and look at the inner you. The you that should be praised and complimented. The you that should be loved unconditionally and be proud of no matter the circumstance. This week give yourself a challenge to look at yourself in the mirror and give two positive things about yourself: one physical and one mental. Remember before we invest in others we should invest in ourselves!
